New Single “Never2Late” Featuring John Oates out Now on Itunes

Seven-time Billboard charting singer-songwriter Margo Rey announced today her newest single “Never2Late.”

Los Angeles, CA, April 25, 2015 – Seven-time Billboard charting singer-songwriter Margo Rey announced today her newest single “Never2Late.”

Never2Late” is an easy listening yet upbeat pop song that displays Margo’s signature melodic flair and vocals. Following her last releases, “Colours” and “Tempted,” Margo is not stopping anytime soon to write inspiring songs for her fans and collaborate with talented musicians such as John Oates on this latest release.

Never 2 Late is also the first song that I wrote the music and lyrics with John Oates simultaneously. It was a joyful experience and I'm blessed to call him my friend and songwriting partner.  John also honors this recording with his gorgeous Hall and Oates harmonies,” Margo states.

“It’s a message that kindness makes everything better because it is human nature to desire kindness and the need to be understood.”

This brand new single is the second collaboration with Oates, the first with top 20 Billboard charting “Let The Rain,” which became the theme song for non-profit organization Brides Against Breast Cancer.

Margo’s alternative pop songs have captured a worldwide audience with her unforgettable melodies, groove oriented arrangements and enduring, socially conscious lyrics that always blend a variety of organic sounds with every bit of emotion. The Indie Music Digest says, “Her musical/vocal style is cut from the cloth of Celine Dion, Bonnie Raitt and Shania Twain.”

Holman Ranch Vineyards & Winery Estate Wines and Wine Caves Announces its First Ever Late Harvest Pinot Noir

Holman Ranch Vineyards & Winery '13 Late Harvest Pinot Noir "Big Daddy"

Carmel Valley, CA, April 21, 2015 -- The estate wines of Holman Ranch include: Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Rosé of Pinot Noir. Holman Ranch’s 21 acres of vineyards lie between 950 and 1150 feet in elevation. The root stocks and soils are most important in producing excellent fruit from the vineyards.

The surrounding Santa Lucia Mountains are very important to Carmel Valley viticulture. The local hills hold back the marine layer and broad breezes, which is beneficial to producing consistently good fruit. Sedimentary soils, such as, chock rock and Carmel stone also play a major role in wine producing methods by providing good soil drainage. Holman Ranch “stresses the vines” of the fruit with emphasis on reproduction, which in turn, stops growth and ripens fruit. The valley configuration allows for fog in the morning but with it rapidly moving out as the air warms which is great for Pinot Noir grapes. The proximity to the ocean and the elevation are positive characteristics for the vines.

Holman Ranch’s vines are planted 15 degrees off due north which allows for all day sunlight on fruit zone and good protection from breeze. No chemical herbicides or pesticides are used on our fruit and we have received our sustainable and organic certification. Holman Ranch is also 100% estate vineyards and winery.

Holman Ranch’s wines are unfined and crafted to deliver the true varietal of the grape from harvest to table. Purity and passion are key ingredients in the wine-making process, and this is where Holman Ranch truly stands out.

Holman Ranch Announces Holman Ranch Vineyards & Winery '13 Late Harvest Pinot Noir "Big Daddy"

• Our first ever Late Harvest Pinot Noir has been a long time in the making. 18 months in neutral French Oak and fortified with high proof brandy, this Big Daddy is warm and robust. Dark Chocolate notes are prominent, but the toast, raspberry jam and coffee notes almost make you want to have it for breakfast.....Hmmmm........

• $45 - 375 ml

Wine Caves:
The winery at Holman Ranch, located in The Caves, is completely underground in order to take advantage of the natural cooling and humidity held below. The 3000 square foot area maintains a constant temperature of 58°F-60 °F and contains four 750 gallon tanks, four 1200 gallon tanks, and four open top tanks that can hold two tons each. One hundred (100) French oak barrels are maintained year round. Winery operations such as destemming, pressing, fermenting and aging take place within the cool environment of The Caves, while bottling is done directly outside using a mobile bottling line. During harvest, 6 to 8 tons of grapes a day are processed.

This may seem low but it is due to the fact that harvesting hours are between 7am to noon on any given day. Grapes are hand picked and loaded into half ton bins, transferred to the winery by tractor and then moved by forklift to the destemmer. White wines take around three weeks to ferment at 50°F and are bottled in February, while red varietals ferment for two weeks and are bottled in early June. All skins, seeds and stems are composted and returned to the fields. Slow months for our winery are June, July and August with the busiest time being September. The winery will produce 3000-5000 cases annually.

Vineyard & Winery Background:
Located at the north eastern tip of the Carmel Valley Appellation, the family-owned Holman Ranch resides approximately 12 miles inland from the Pacific Coast. Immersed in history and romance, the ranch has not only proven to be an excellent growing location for our vineyards but also for the Tuscan varietal olive trees which have flourished under the temperate climate.

• Our estate-grown wine varietals are planted on approximately 21 acres of undulating terrain.

• The wines produced are unfined and crafted to deliver the true varietal of the grape from harvest to bottle.

• The climate and terroir of the appellation has played a critical part in the success of our wines. The warmth of our inland valley coupled with the cooling marine layer has established itself as an ideal microclimate for the production of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Our Burgundy Clones have thrived from the perfect blend of ideal climate, southern exposure and thin rocky soils.

Holman Ranch Tasting Room:
Holman Ranch’s Carmel Valley tasting room offers the perfect backdrop to swirl, sip and savor the different complexities of Holman Ranch Vineyard and Winery wines. There is something for everyone (4 varietals in fact), from the full-bodied Pinot Noirs to the light, fruity flavors of our Pinot Gris and lightly oaked Chardonnay. Holman Ranch also offers estate grown and bottled Olive Oil available for tasting and purchase at the Tasting Room.

The Tasting Room showcases the estate wines of Holman Ranch which includes our Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Rosé of Pinot Noir. Carefully hand-harvested, cold pressed and bottled, the Extra Virgin Olive Oil produced from the fruits of our Tuscan trees has a delightful spice followed by a buttery finish.

Three tasting flights of three wines each (White, Mountain and Pinot Noir) are available 7 days a week. The Tasting Room also holds a series of cooking demos called In Your Backyard. For more information, call (831) 659-2640.

Olive Grove:
Holman Ranch has its own distinctive olive grove located on a south facing hill of our vineyard. The grove is comprised of 100 trees with multiple cultivars planted. These cultivars consist of 25 Frantoio, 25 Leccino, 10 Mission, 25 Coratina, 5 Pendolino, and 10 Picholine, all of which were originally planted in 2194 in a Carmel Valley orchard then replanted at Holman Ranch in 2007. These mature olive trees allowed us to produce olive oil right away. They are planted in shale for the best production and harvesting results possible. We harvest our fruit by hand in December, which is then milled, producing a superb, high quality product. Although the Olive Grove is not certified organic, we do employ organic practices when farming our trees. Our mill, however, is certified organic. An interesting fact is that olive trees are alternate bearing, which means that one year they may produce 650, 375ml bottles worth of oil, while next year they may produce only 50, 375ml bottles.

Holman Ranch Background:
Holman Ranch: Where the Past is Always Present. Tucked away in the rolling hills of Carmel Valley, Californian historic Holman Ranch provides a unique and memorable setting for weddings, special events, family gatherings, corporate retreats, and team-building events. With its charming gardens, stunning mountain views and serenity, this private estate affords old-world charm while providing modern day conveniences. This stunning Property includes a fully restored stone hacienda, overnight guest rooms, vineyards, olive grove, horse stables and more. www.holmanranch.com

Barking up the right tree: Holiday Retirement invests in Pet therapy to boost seniors’ Health and Happiness

Leading senior living provider welcomes furry and feathered companions to improve residents’ quality of life

Lake Oswego, OR, April 10, 2015 — Holiday Retirement is turning to four-legged caregivers to improve its residents’ lives. Recognizing that animals have a singularly positive impact on the lives of its residents, the senior living provider, which operates more than 300 communities across the United States, has become increasingly dedicated to finding ways to involve animals in seniors’ lives. Holiday Retirement encourages the use of therapy pets in its communities, operates pet-friendly communities, and has just launched a series of resources focused on helping seniors connect with pets.

Increasingly, pet-friendly senior living has become a sought-after option among retirement communities across the United States. It is no surprise, given that animal companionship has proven to improve seniors’ health, reduce anxiety and depression, and even help seniors live longer lives.

“Holiday Retirement strives to provide the optimal environment for residents of our senior living communities, which is why we are dedicated to helping seniors connect with animals,” said Harvey Brownlee, chief operating officer for Holiday Retirement. “The unconditional love an animal companion provides can help ease the transition into retirement living, provide ongoing companionship, and improve overall quality of life.”

According to one of the earliest studies on pet therapy, spending time with animals helps increase longevity. A study published in 1980 showed that heart attack patients who owned pets lived longer than those who did not. More recently, a 2005 research project from UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles found that a 12-minute visit with dogs helped heart and lung function and decreased anxiety.

Here are four examples of the ways in which Holiday Retirement communities have connected their residents with therapeutic access to animals.

1. Cats and dogs may be considered the “usual suspects” as therapy pets, but for residents at Jordan Oaks in Cary, North Carolina, miniature horses provide smiles and a dose of nostalgia. Today’s seniors often grew up in small towns or rural areas where riding horses was a common pastime; seeing and interacting with the miniature horses from Horse Hugs brings back special memories.

2. At Kittery Estates in Kittery, Maine, residents know firsthand how much a therapy dog can help increase socialization and minimize feelings of depression. Their weekly visits from Canine Companion Organization are filled with smiles and laughter. One resident even takes the opportunity to leave her wheelchair to sit on the floor with the dogs.

3. For residents of River’s Edge in Savannah, Georgia, tropical birds make regular visits. Trained to be hands-on through “Wings of Joy,” these birds are a welcomed treat for residents – making themselves at home on seniors’ shoulders and performing special tricks.

4. At Astor House at Springbrook Oaks in Newberg, Oregon, therapy pets come in all shapes and sizes. From miniature ponies to a black lab named Cherokee, residents truly enjoy the regular visits from these animal friends. Additionally, residents have made trips out to a small ranch in Oregon where they feed and pet the horses. “I love the smell of horse on my hands; I don’t plan on washing my hands for a few days,” says one resident.

“For seniors who have pets, we want them to be able to have experiences in our communities that benefit their quality of life,” said Brownlee. “For those who do not have pets, therapy pets offer an alternative in which seniors can still get these benefits.”

Holiday Retirement is dedicated to helping seniors in every living situation experience the benefits of pet companionship. If you or a loved one are interested in adopting a pet for a senior, visit holidaytouch.com/petsforseniors for a checklist, “Choosing the Perfect Pet for a Senior.” The checklist offers advice and tips for choosing a senior-friendly pet. Additionally, an infographic, “The Pet Perspective,” offers two- and four-legged friends’ viewpoint on why seniors make the best owners.

“900 Voices” - Epic Video by GRAMMY® Winner Laura Sullivan

GRAMMY® winning composer, Laura Sullivan, called out to the world to join her in a powerful plan to make a music video.

Hollywood, CA, April 11, 2015 - GRAMMY® winning composer, Laura Sullivan, called out to the world to join her in a powerful plan to make a music video. Her request was simple.Take a video of yourself singing her song “900 Voices” and send it to her. The response was overwhelming.

938 people from Australia, Brazil, Israel, Croatia, Korea, Kenya, India, and many other countries, participated by making videos on their cell phones and sending them to Laura.

The result is epic. 27 languages included in one song and video about love and unity. The video will be released on April 9, 2015 and is titled “900 Voices.”

These 938 amazing people will make you happy. Elena from Bulgaria, still in her hospital gown, sings and sweetly kisses her newborn son. A group of children in Uganda, who were once homeless, sing and dance like they are the richest kids in the world. A fire department of tough guys from New Jersey gives it their all.

“I was hoping to get a lot of participation, but what I received back was beyond my wildest dreams. People from all over the world and from every walk of life sent in incredible videos. Watching them moved me to tears. I hope I have honored these hundreds of wonderful people by including them in the video,” says Laura.

Cabby Turns Out To Be Billionaire!!

Local cab driver on the island of Kiki Loa writes a personal check for $15,000,000 to build a water desalinization plant for his fellow islanders a major resort can be built on the island.

Kiki Loa, April 10, 2015 - A few days ago, on the tiny island of Kiki Loa, a local cab driver named Akamai Kane, wrote a personal check for $15,000,000 to build a water desalinization plant for his fellow islanders. Further investigation now reveals that Mr. Kane is currently worth over $20 billion, making him among the wealthiest men in the world.

Kiki Loa is small island located approximately 1,700 miles due west of the Hawaiian island of Maui. Approximately 99% of Kiki Loa’s residents rely on sugar cane farming as their primary source of income. The remaining one percent of the islanders works in the island's tourism trade, consisting of only a few small Bed and Breakfast Inns that attracted a hand full of adventurous tourists.

As it turns out, about a year ago a major hotel corporation came to Kiki Loa to investigate building a world class resort. Obviously, if selected this would mean the islanders could give up their torturous lifestyle of working the sugar cane fields as better employment would become readily available.

In an interview this afternoon with a member of the Resort's site evaluation team; he stated that they found Kiki Loa’s natural beauty ideal for their desired project. This is because it has everything they wanted: lush rain forests, spectacular scenic views, abundant aquatic life on the island’s reefs, and miles of white sandy beaches. This same source also revealed, that unfortunately the evaluation team’s due diligence also found out that the island did not have large enough fresh water supplies to support the size project the hotel desired to build.

Over the next few months, the evaluation team continued to work on ways to try and make the project work. However, apparently in the end they could not justify the extra $15 million it would take to build the fresh water desalinization plant required to support the resort project.

A couple of months ago, the Governor’s office in Kiki Loa was informed by the resort’s representatives that unless it could find the resources to build its own desalinization plant within the next 60 day period, they would reluctantly have to choose another island for the project.

Obviously, this has been devastating news for the Islanders as there was no foreseeable way for them to get this done. Then two days ago, as the deadline was about to expire, the strangest thing happened. Akamai Kane, a native born Kiki Laotian and its only taxi driver, walked into the Governor’s office and presented him with a personal check for $15,000,000 to pay for the water plant.

At first everyone there thought that Mr. Kane was playing a joke trying to lighten up a sad situation. But to everyone's amazement, they soon found out that this check was good; so Kiki Loa will now get its new Hotel Resort.

As a result, this news story ends on a happy note, as the future for the people of Kiki Loa is now much more secure and brighter!

Hofsas House Hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea Announces The 10 Best Things to do in Carmel Without a Car

Might this be a start a new of foot sensitive vacationing?

Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA, April 07, 2015 - In Carmel-by-the-Sea, the Theis family is celebrating more than six decades of European hospitality at its beautiful Bavarian-inspired Hofsas House Hotel, which is as charming as the town itself. With firm roots in the past, the family is looking toward the future by keeping abreast of guests’ every need.

Did you know average car causes 600 pounds of air pollution every year? A recent AAA holiday report cited a decline in car travel and a shift towards alternative modes of transportation. Biking and low-cost interstate bus travel are on the rise. Might this be the start of a new era of footprint-sensitive vacationing? (Let’s think positive and say, “Yes.”)

Here are some reasons walking is better than driving:

1. It saves money on gas. Lots of it.
2. It saves the planet. You’d be doing your bit to save the world.
3. It saves on parking. Don’t you just hate having to pay for parking?
4. It’s free. The pleasure of knowing you are getting something for nothing while other people have to pay is not the same as benefiting from saving money. It’s even better.

Kwame Binea Shakedown set for Debut "Let Go" Video/Single Release and Live Launch Event at Rockwood Music Hall in New York on April 3Rd

New York City-based roots rock songwriter/singer Kwame Binea who fronts the Kwame Binea Shakedown has announced the worldwide digital release of their debut single, "Let Go," for Tuesday, April 7, 2015 via CDbaby.com

New York, NY, April 05, 2015 - New York City-based roots rock songwriter/singer Kwame Binea who fronts the Kwame Binea Shakedown has announced the worldwide digital release of their debut single, "Let Go," for Tuesday, April 7, 2015 via CDbaby.com and all their major digital distribution partners including iTunes and Amazon.com. Binea will be celebrating the single and video release with a performance at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City on Friday, April 3, 2015. The event will be followed by a sneak preview of the "Let Go" post after-party at the venue.

"Let Go" is a rock/funk/soul song that lyrically invokes and offers an inspired message that the best way to overcome a spurned lover or lingering adversity is to think positive, know when it's time to move on and just let go. It was co-written and produced by Kwame Binea and guitarist Justin Wilcox for Binea's indie imprint, Pelopos Entertainment Group. The song also features the rest of the Shakedown band, drummer Medley Shabazz, guitarist Art Vanterpool, bassist Phil Bass, Daron Wright on keyboards, Kengo Yamada on saxophone and Brian Varneke on trumpet. The "Let Go" video was culled from a Kwame Binea Shakedown live performance at the Brooklyn Bowl earlier in 2015.

"We've been in the studio writing, recording and performing live for a while," says Kwame, "so this first single release, ‘Let Go,’ is a big step for us. We felt it was time to give all our loyal fans something they could finally keep. Like most of our songs, ‘Let Go’ embodies the message of peace, love and positivity that propels and drives our music," he added.

Binea, a lithe and fit 6'5 rocker to the core has a vivacious smile and a full head of dreadlocks cascading to his mid-back (as staple of identity for the past eight years). He grew up splitting time in West London (his birth place) and in his native origins, Ghana. He later moved to Cherry Hill, NJ as a teenager where he started to unearth his artistic aspirations as a burgeoning songwriter/singer/guitarist. He initially teamed up with guitarist/vocalist Justin Wilcox in college and the duo became the nucleus for expanding and founding the multicultural fusion of rock, soul/rhythm & blues, blues and reggae collective that spawned the Kwame Shakedown in Harlem, NY (2011).
